Smith is a heavy-handed, low-pad interior lineman who plays the run first and asks questions later. He fires into contact with his hands inside, locks out, and works to keep his frame square so the linebackers behind him stay clean. Against combo blocks he sinks his weight rather than getting washed, and he has the length to shed late once the ball declares.
