Gordon is a 6-1, 226-pound back who runs with weight behind his pads. He is at his best on downhill zone concepts where he can press the line, make one decisive cut and fall forward through arm tackles. He also catches the ball naturally — 81 career receptions is a real number for a back his size — and he is willing in pass protection.
What he does not have is a second gear. A 4.61 forty matches the tape: he does not pull away from angles in the open field and he rarely turns a crease into an explosive run. He also gets bogged down when penetration forces him to redirect laterally, because his feet are heavy in tight spaces.

Gordon rushed 536 times for 2,897 yards and 35 touchdowns over three seasons at Oklahoma State while adding 81 catches for 607 yards. The 2023 season was the outlier and the reason he was once discussed as a first-round back: 285 carries, 1,731 yards, 21 touchdowns and the Doak Walker Award.
The 2024 follow-up did not come close. Behind a worse offensive line he managed 858 yards on 189 carries and 12 scores, and the efficiency drop was visible on tape as well as in the box score. He looked heavier, less decisive, and less able to create when the blocking failed him.
The evaluation is whether 2023 or 2024 is the truth. He is a legitimate short-yardage and goal-line weapon with three-down hands, and Miami needs a back who can convert the tough yardage their speed backs cannot. Day three is the right price for a player whose best season was genuinely elite and whose last one was genuinely concerning.

Gordon's physical running style and reliable short-yardage ability make him a strong candidate to be a valuable rotational piece and goal-line back.
Gordon projects as a powerful early-down runner who can wear down defenses and consistently gain tough yardage, much like Henry in his prime.
At his floor, Gordon could still carve out a niche as a specialized short-yardage and goal-line back, similar to Tolbert's productive career.
