Buffalo signed him to a four-year, $15.2 million rookie deal in June 2025, and the first NFL chapter was written by the training room. An LCL sprain in a preseason practice put him on injured reserve to open the year, and he did not make his debut until Week 8 against Carolina.
The wait ended quickly: in Week 9 he was matched up with Xavier Worthy — the fastest combine 40 in NFL history — and took the ball away to seal a 28-21 win over Kansas City. A week later, in his first career start against Miami, Jaylen Waddle beat him for a long touchdown, and he answered in the second half with a second interception off the same receiver.
