Kansas City used him immediately as a movable speed piece rather than a volume target. As a rookie in 2024 he played all 17 games with 13 starts, caught 59 balls for 638 yards and six touchdowns, added 20 carries for 104 yards and three scores, and then delivered the best game of his career in Super Bowl LIX with eight catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns in a loss. Year two started with a shoulder injury on the opening drive of the season, cost him games, and never really got going: 42 receptions for 532 yards and one touchdown in 14 games, though the yards-per-catch rose to 12.7.
Two seasons in, the trait works and the volume does not. Defenses still respect the speed and Kansas City still schemes around it, but he has not become the every-down separator a first-round receiver is drafted to be, and the frame concerns have been validated by the missed time.
