The production speaks for itself. He ran for 936 yards as a Temple freshman, 1,042 at Vanderbilt in 2022, and then broke out at Kentucky in 2023 with 199 carries for 1,129 yards and 14 rushing scores, plus 33 catches for 323 yards and seven touchdowns — a school-record 21 total touchdowns capped by a 280-yard afternoon against Florida. The flags were age and mileage: he turned 24 during the pre-draft process with 746 career carries, and the combine numbers (4.52 forty, 4.33 shuttle) confirmed a good, not special, athlete.
Boards had him as a fourth-round complementary back — a rotational thumper with return upside rather than a lead runner. Buffalo took him at 128 to give James Cook a physical, pass-game-capable partner, exactly the profile the offense lacked.

Buffalo used him as advertised from day one. As a rookie in 2024 he was the change-of-pace and short-yardage complement to James Cook, taking 113 carries for 442 yards and three scores with 17 catches for 189 yards and three more touchdowns in all 17 games, including a 97-yard rushing day against the Jets. In 2025 the offensive touches shrank to 58 carries for 275 yards, but his value moved to special teams: he handled 31 kick returns for 943 yards and a touchdown, and closed the year with a 151-yard rushing game in Week 18. He entered 2026 still on the roster as the RB2 and the primary returner.
In hindsight this was a fair, unspectacular fourth-round outcome. The evaluation nailed both directions — the contact balance and pass-game utility translated immediately, and the missing burst kept him from ever threatening the lead role. Buffalo got three useful years of a defined role plus a return weapon, which is the honest ceiling for a 24-year-old rookie back taken on Day 3.
