A six-year college defender with a heavy, old-school nose-tackle identity: hold the point, eat blocks, let someone else make the tackle. Jefferson gave West Virginia four seasons of gradual growth before transferring to LSU for a final year in a defense that asked him to two-gap on early downs and rotate out on obvious passing situations.
The production line reads modestly and always did. He left with 90 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and six sacks across 55 games, with his best year coming last: 36 tackles, seven for loss and 2.5 sacks in 13 games at LSU, six of them as a starter, capped by a fourth-quarter sack of Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl. He was also a two-time Academic All-Big 12 pick and a Senior Bowl invitee, which was part of the appeal — a mature, low-maintenance rotational body.

Jefferson appeared in seven games as a rookie for Jacksonville in 2024, logging 12 tackles, one sack and one pass breakup — the sack a coverage takedown of Jalen Hurts — before a regime change and a reshaped defensive front left him behind on the depth chart. He was waived at final cuts in August of 2025, claimed by San Francisco, and moved again to Cincinnati later that season, where he has held a roster spot into 2026 without a defined rotational job.
