Trice's game is a long-armed bull rush and a heavy, relentless second effort: he gets under the pads, walks the pocket back, and churns until the play is dead. The get-off is good rather than explosive, so the win usually comes on the third second of the rep, not the first.
Against the run he is a genuine plus, setting a firm edge with length and spilling pulling blockers instead of getting washed. The counters are still developing — the rush plan leans on power, converting speed to power, and effort rather than a refined inside move. The signature is the motor: he chases across the formation, cleans up other people's pressure, and never volunteers a wasted snap.

Trice is a three-down edge with a run-defense floor and a power-based rush profile. He fits the classic 4-3 defensive end mold: heavy hands, good length, a strong base against down blocks, and the frame to add mass without losing the ability to drop into short zones when a defense asks him to.
The production supports the tape. After two lost seasons — a redshirt year and a COVID opt-out — he broke out with 9.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss in 2022, then anchored the edge for a Washington team that reached the national title game, posting 46 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks with a huge hurry count in 2023. The flags were athletic: adequate bend, a first step that does not threaten NFL tackles on its own, and a rush plan that stalls when the bull rush is neutralized.
The board saw a safe rotational starter more than a premium rusher, with grades clustered in the late second to third round. Atlanta, badly in need of edge help, took him at 74 as a floor-and-role bet: a player who could hold up on early downs immediately and grow into more if the counters caught up with the power.

Bralen Trice was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 3rd round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has not yet played in an NFL regular season game.
The plan never got a chance to start. Trice tore his ACL in the second quarter of his first NFL preseason game in August 2024 and lost his entire rookie year without taking a regular-season snap. He rehabbed through the offseason, reported to camp in the summer of 2025, then reaggravated the same knee before the opener; Atlanta placed him on injured reserve and he missed a second full season. He returned to the practice field healthy at 2026 training camp — two years into his contract with zero career games, snaps or sacks — walking into a room that had been rebuilt around Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. while he was rehabbing, and into a real opportunity created by the pass-rush snaps Atlanta suddenly needed covered.
There is no evaluation grade to hand out here, only a medical one. Nothing about the pre-draft read has been contradicted or confirmed, and through two seasons the pick has to be judged as a total loss of value regardless of what the tape said. That is the risk with any mid-round edge: the margin between a rotational starter and nothing at all is often one non-contact injury and one setback in rehab. Whether Trice becomes the run-stuffing power rusher scouts projected is now a question about the knee, not about counters.
