02Scheme fit
Ideal system

Davenport is a scheme-versatile defensive end best suited for gap-disciplined fronts that prioritize disciplined edge setting with the ability to penetrate and disrupt.

4-3 DEWide-9 DE5-technique
Best role

Year 1 rotational pass rusher who develops into an impact starter capable of double-digit sacks and consistent run disruption.

Wrong fit

Any system that relies on him as a primary interior pass rusher or as a pure stand-up linebacker.

His blend of size, speed, and proven production suggests high upside in schemes that can leverage his explosive athleticism. If he isn't able to anchor against against linemen as an every down player and hold the edge, then there will be a problem. This should not be an issue given his strength.

04The evaluation
