Trubisky's ideal scheme is a spread RPO or an Erhardt-Perkins offensive system that prioritizes play-action, high-percentage throws, and quarterback mobility.
As a rookie, he profiles as a developmental backup with long-term potential to grow into a starting role if coached properly.
He would be a poor fit in a traditional pro-style offense that relies heavily on complex reads, deep dropbacks, and a minimal role for QB running outside of the pocket.
Trubisky's athleticism and arm talent are best utilized in a system that simplifies reads and allows him to throw on the move, masking his inconsistent accuracy and processing speed.
Selected #2 overall in Round 1 of the 2017 NFL Draft by Chicago Bears out of North Carolina.
