Stephone Anthony is ideally suited for a 4-3 Cover 2 or base 4-3 defense that emphasizes strong run defense and allows linebackers to flow downhill and be aggressive against the run.
Anthony could immediately contribute as a starting middle linebacker who can anchor the run defense with his downhill aggression, with a ceiling to be a multi-impact player in a traditional 4-3 scheme.
He would be a poor fit in a pass-heavy 3-4 defense that frequently asks linebackers to drop into complex coverage schemes, which exposes his coverage limitations and struggles in space.
A powerful run defender with excellent size and speed for the position, Anthony projects best as an every-down middle linebacker in a downhill 4-3 scheme, though his coverage and spatial awareness limitations might be exploited in more pass-centric schemes.
