Eli Harold is a defensive end best suited for an attacking 4-3 one-gap front, where his athletic traits can be maximized as a pass rusher.
As a rookie, he projects as a situational pass rusher and special teamer, with the ceiling to develop into a starting weak-side defensive end.
He would be a poor fit for a two-gap 3-4 defensive end role, as he lacks the bulk and strength to consistently hold the point of attack.
Harold's athleticism and pass-rushing upside are his main selling points, but he needs to improve his run defense and play strength to be an every-down player.
