Tank Carder will best fit a traditional 4-3 defense that prioritizes strong, instinctual linebackers capable of filling gaps and making tackles downhill.
Year 1 should see him as a rotational linebacker with significant special teams duties, eventually developing into a reliable starter at either Will or Mike linebacker.
He would be a poor fit for a modern, space-oriented nickel defense that regularly asks linebackers to cover extensive ground in man coverage.
Carder projects as a high-floor, average-ceiling prospect whose greatest value comes in his football IQ and physical play in a traditional defensive scheme.
